my cats

midnight

midnight is a 9 year old domestic short hair. she's a tuxedo cat and my first cat. i adopted her from a family who no longer wished to have her. they were getting divorced and told me the kids were not kind to her. they used to pull on her ears and lock her in rooms.

she was also weaned too early and had to have her water mixed with kitten milk for a couple months before she would drink regular water.

nowadays, midnight demands to drink from a tap or a cup and refuses to drink from cat bowls like the other two peasants. she's very funny about being touched, you have to wait for her to come to you, but she's full of a lot of love and i wouldn't change her for the world.

her birthday is the 18th of may - we think. the vet calculated it roughly, because her previous owners didn't know for sure how many months old she was.

adonis

adonis is my second cat. he's 7. i got him a few months after getting midnight to get her a playmate. he's the sweetest little guy with anxiety.

i adopted him from a local animal shelter. his mother had been abandonned, possibly because she was pregnant. so him, his mother, and his two sisters were brought to the shelter. he was 4 months old when i adopted him.

he likes to watch the tv, especially if emma is watching a minecraft video. he eats pretty much anything. one time he tried to eat a jalapeno. don't worry, he didn't try to swallow it. but he learned to sniff everything that's in front of him before he tries to eat.

we don't really ever call him adonis. his nickname is bon, which started as don and just slowly evolved. the most recent nickname for him bonathon jonathon.

his birthday is the 9th of may. A week before midnights.

mango

mango tango, as she is formally known, is a little whirlwind of energy. she is extremely clingy and very affectionate. she is always in the mood to play and never knows when to stop. she's always hungry and recently the vet recommended we restrict her diet a little bit so she can lose a little weight. probably because she steals midnights food.

we were given mango from one of emma's old work friends, after the person who was meant to adopt her backed out. it was very last minute, but now i couldn't imagine our lives without her in them. she's incredibly vocal, has the loudest purr and is just an overall sweet heart.

she's a 3 year old calico. she loves midnight and adonis, but he does not like her very much. but they co-exist well enough. they don't fight, and that's all i could ask for.

she's probably the friendliest cat in my home. she greets everyone with her tail up and a purr.

mango's birthday is december 22nd. she's a christmas baby.
